Let’s talk about something we get asked all the time: how do KickBack shoes fit?
It’s a fair question. When you’re buying shoes online, you want to know they’ll feel great the moment they arrive. But here’s the thing:
KickBack shoes aren’t built like traditional shoes. They're built for comfort.
The Floating Fit: A Different Kind of Comfort
At the heart of every KickBack shoe is what we call the Floating Fit. This design lets your foot move naturally, without being locked in by hard structure or rigid panels.
Thanks to our lightweight construction and soft, pressure-free materials, your foot isn’t held in place in the usual way. Instead, it floats freely within the shoe. The shoe moves with you, not against you.
So if you’re used to that tight, structured feeling from traditional trainers or boots, KickBacks will feel completely different. And that’s the point.
What if I Feel the Toe?
Some people notice a light touch around their toes and wonder if that means the shoe is too small.
That soft contact is just the shoe’s upper resting gently against your foot. There’s no pressure or squeezing, just a relaxed, flexible fit. Think of it more like a soft hug than a firm grip.
Regular vs Relaxed: What the Fit Shapes Actually Mean
Since our shoes don’t use hard shaping materials or stiff panels, traditional fit terms like 'narrow' or 'wide' don’t really apply. Instead, we use two shapes to describe our styles: Regular and Relaxed.
These are more about the look and feel of the shoe than the type of foot they’re made for.
Regular Shape - Men's
A classic, clean silhouette that feels a little more streamlined. Great for everyday wear, walking around town, or casual outings.
Feels: Closer to the foot, but still soft and flexible.
The Haven Woven Canvas in Khaki is a regular shape.
Regular Shape - Women's
Similar to the Men's regular shape, but combined with KickBack's new wave sole. The lightweight, flexible, shock absorbing EVA wedge profile with anatomically shaped full-length footbed ensures the foot is supported and guided.
The Rizzo is a regular shape with supportive, guiding wave sole.
Relaxed Shape
A roomier, boxier style with extra breathing room. It gives laid-back, beach-day energy and all-day comfort.
Feels: More spacious, ideal for off-duty days or wider feet.
The Couch 2.0 Woven Canvas in Navy is a relaxed shape.
Can I Wear Both?
Yes, in most cases you can wear either fit shape. Here’s how it breaks down:
-
Wider feet? You might love the extra space in Relaxed styles like the Couch. But you can still wear a Regular style like the Haven. It might feel a little more snug around the upper, but it won’t feel tight or uncomfortable thanks to the flexible materials.
-
Narrower feet? You’ll still be fine in a Relaxed shape. It may feel slightly looser, but the floating fit keeps everything secure without slipping around.
